found problem quickly"Our home was built in 1986, and at that time we used the best materials we could in insulating our home. We have 2 x 6 exterior walls and I believe we had the most insulation we could have at that time. Our home has gas heat and electric air conditioning. Over the years, energy costs have risen with corresponding energy bills. I met Jimmy Harris of Harris Insulation at a golf tournament, and ask him to inspect our home. Jimmy visually inspected our home and found we needed a little more attic insulation as well as foam board installed on our attic knee walls. Jimmy then sat up his blower door test and pulled a negative pressure on our home and found we had significant air leaks through the can lights, fireplace dampers, and a few other places. Our home is 3600 square feet and got 6650 cfm @ -50 Pascal, a number stating there was some room for improvement. After obtaining a proposal I accepted, and the crew began work 3 days later. Harris Insulation’s employees were efficient and cleaned up after themselves. The employees installed the tenmat can light covers, nailed foam board to the attic knee walls, blew in 6 inches of cellulose insulation in the attic and spent several hours caulking and looking for air leaks. Jimmy then ran another blower door test getting a reading of 4590 cfm @ -50 Pascal, a 31 % improvement. I calculated the air sealing improvement and the other energy saving improvement I should recoup the money spent in 18-24 months. Jimmy even filled out the paper work so that we could receive the Entergy rebate. Overall, we are very satisfied with the work Harris Insulation did for us."
